Suit(case) Yourself

It's officially summertime, which means everyone is traveling (including me!)! Since I'll be leaving for vacation here in a few days, I decided to blog about a very important factor when it comes to traveling--PACKING! I'm an overpacker, so I'm not here to tell you how to downsize. Instead, I'll be sharing some cheats and strategies so you can overpack as much as possible ;)

This is my suitcase. I've had it for YEARS and it's been absolutely everywhere with me, so it's definitely worn in and aged a bit, but it's never given me problems. When traveling, I typically use the large suitcase, but for weekend trips I'll use the smaller one (it's inside of the big one). The smaller one fits in the overhead storage on a plane, so it can be used as a carry on. I got these suitcases at Ross, but I've linked below a website that sells them, and some similar suitcases as well.

This is a tip I've used forever. It's super easy, and you may already do this! To save space, I put socks/undergarments inside my shoes. Not only does it make more room, but it also keeps your shoes from being crushed and bent!

This one is also very easy and very common. It's probably nothing new to you! To save room, I stack my bras and swimmers (both of these pictured are swimmers). When stacked, they have a better chance at keeping their shape.

This is one of the most useful tips I can offer--I never knew how to pack a sunhat, so I just wouldn't take them. That is, until my friend told me how to pack it without crushing it. Pack your suitcase like normal, but leave a hole the size of your head in the middle. Put the top of your hat in here with the brim spread out like normal. You can then put clothes or anything else you need inside the top of the hat! If you still have room, you can even pack OVER the hat (I don't have anything packed over mine in the picture). This saves room and also helps the hat keep its shape!

I hope these few tips are able to help you when it's time for a trip! Feel free to comment any other tips you have!

Watch my Instagram to find out where I'm going! I promise, I'll be posting lots of pictures :)
